How to Install Bluetooth on a Non-Bluetooth Laptop
Nowadays, many devices such as speakers, headsets, and more rely on Bluetooth connections to operate. Even home furnishings are now utilizing this advanced technology to simplify operations.
Bluetooth makes data transfer and connectivity with other devices much easier. But what if your device, such as a laptop, doesn't have Bluetooth capabilities?
Don’t worry, you can still enjoy Bluetooth connectivity with ease. All you need to do is purchase a Bluetooth adapter and install it on your laptop. If you're unsure how to do this, just follow this article until the end for step-by-step instructions.
1. Check Bluetooth on Laptop

Before deciding to buy a Bluetooth adapter, I recommend checking if your laptop already has Bluetooth capabilities, as it may just be turned off.
To check if your laptop has Bluetooth, press the Windows + X keys and select Device Manager from the menu. Once the Device Manager window opens, look for Bluetooth in the list.
If your laptop is equipped with Bluetooth, it will appear as a Bluetooth device in the list. Simply activate Bluetooth to start using it. If you don't find it, that means your laptop is not equipped with Bluetooth.
2. Buy External Bluetooth Adapter

If you've confirmed that your laptop doesn’t have Bluetooth, the next step is to purchase an external Bluetooth adapter. This adapter is a small, portable device, often resembling a thumb drive, making it easy to carry around.
Bluetooth adapters are widely available at electronics stores, computer shops, or online marketplaces. Before making your purchase, be sure the adapter is compatible with your laptop's operating system to ensure a smooth pairing and usage experience.
3. Connect the Adapter to Laptop

Once the Bluetooth adapter is ready, the next step is to connect it to your laptop. Simply plug the adapter into one of your laptop's USB ports.
In most cases, the laptop will automatically recognize the new Bluetooth adapter and begin installing the necessary drivers. This process usually takes just a few minutes.
If your laptop doesn’t automatically install the drivers, don't worry. You can manually install them using the CD that often comes with the Bluetooth adapter or download the drivers directly from the adapter manufacturer's official website.
4. Check and Activate Bluetooth

Once the driver installation is complete, ensure that the Bluetooth feature is active and ready to use. You can check this by looking for the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar at the bottom right corner of your screen on Windows operating systems.
If the Bluetooth icon doesn’t appear, you can manually check and activate it through the Device Manager, as mentioned in the first step.
Now that your laptop is equipped with Bluetooth, you can easily connect various Bluetooth devices such as a wireless mouse, keyboard, headset, speakers, or even your smartphone, without the hassle of cables taking up space.
