5 Best Super Mario Games on Android
For most game lovers, the name Super Mario Bros is already familiar. This legendary game first appeared in 1985 on Nintendo consoles.
With modern technology, Super Mario fans can now enjoy Mario adventures on Android devices. There are many Super Mario themed games available, and each one is exciting in its own way.
I collected several Super Mario games and some similar alternatives that are just as fun to play. Check out the reviews below!
1. Super Mario Run

After the huge success of Super Mario Bros, Nintendo released the mobile version called Super Mario Run. The controls are simpler, yet the fun stays close to the classic experience.
You only need to tap the screen so Mario can jump and collect coins. Mario will run on his own, so your job is to avoid chasms, grab coins, and dodge obstacles such as poisonous plants.
Super Mario Run uses portrait orientation, so you can play it with one hand. The visuals are smooth and pleasant to look at.
You can also unlock characters like Luigi, Yoshi, Toad, and Princess Peach as you progress. The game includes its own storyline with familiar Mario characters. If you want a Mario game on your phone, this one deserves the top spot.
What I like about Super Mario Run:
- Auto running platformer with simple controls
- Various playable characters
- Classic storyline with iconic Mario characters such as Princess Peach
- Extra modes such as Remix 10 with a faster pace
One thing to note:
- The time limit can feel too short, even in early levels
2. Mario Kart Tour

To start with, you need to log in with your Nintendo account before playing Mario Kart Tour. If you don't have one, you can create an account with your email. After logging in, you can choose a character from the Mario universe along with a kart and glider. I used Metal Mario during my first training match.
The gameplay is simple and friendly for beginners. The kart will move on its own, and you only need to steer and use items like bombs or shells for extra points.
Mario Kart Tour also has flexible control options. You can choose manual drift, smart steering, or gyro handling where you tilt the device like a steering wheel.
The game connects you with players around the world for real-time races. You can also try multiplayer mode and challenge mode with different speed levels.
What I like about Mario Kart Tour:
- Easy controls with custom options
- Beautiful graphics and smooth visuals
- Many collectible characters from the Mario universe
- Wide selection of karts and gliders
- Fun and colourful racing atmosphere
Things to note:
- The difficulty level is lower than the console version, so it may feel less challenging for experienced players
- The game assets take up quite a lot of storage space on phones
3. Super Bino Go

If you want an alternative that feels close to Super Mario, Super Bino Go is a solid choice. The gameplay resembles the classic Super Mario experience, although the main character here is named Bino.
Bino is on a mission to save a princess who has been kidnapped by an evil monster. He must complete various worlds and levels to reach his goal.
The controls follow the Super Mario style. You get a joystick to move Bino forward, backward, down, and run. There are also buttons for jumping and attacking enemies. Bino can even transform into a giant after collecting certain boosters.
The game may look simple at first. Once I played a few levels, I realized the challenge grows over time. The enemies become stronger, the obstacles increase, and Bino’s jump timing needs to be precise to avoid failure.
In terms of visuals, Super Bino Go does not match triple A games or Super Mario Run, yet it still looks decent for a mobile game. The sound effects also bring back memories of classic Super Mario Bros.
The downside is the number of ads. If you fail a mission, you must watch an advert before Bino can revive and continue.
What I like about Super Bino Go:
- Gameplay that feels close to classic Super Mario
- Gradual increase in difficulty
- Controls that follow the Super Mario style
- Decent visuals for a mobile game
One thing to note:
- You must watch an advert every time you fail a mission
4. Lep’s World

Lep's World is another side scroller that brings back memories of Super Mario Bros. You guide the main character to run, jump, and overcome obstacles to find lost treasure.
The main character, Lep, is inspired by an Irish mythological figure known for chasing gold at the end of the rainbow. Lep's World stands out because of its secret elements. Coins and treasure chests often appear in unexpected places such as inside the ground, which adds a unique touch.
The game also offers a tournament mode where you can compete for high scores. If you fail during a level, you can revive with blue gems, although the number of gems is limited.
The good news is that Lep's World works offline. You can still enjoy the game without an internet connection.
What I like about Lep’s World:
- Strong nostalgic feel that reminds you of Super Mario Bros
- Treasure hidden in secret areas
- Offline gameplay
- Tournament mode for extra challenge
One thing to note:
- The revive system depends on a limited number of blue gems
5. Amazing World of Ted

Visually, I am not the biggest fan of Amazing World of Ted. The gameplay, which follows the Super Mario Bros style, still brings nostalgia. The joystick includes directional buttons and A and B buttons for jumping and attacking.
The game provides various attack items such as bullets, burgers, and tennis balls. These items help Ted defeat enemies more easily.
The story also mirrors Super Mario Bros. Ted goes on an adventure to save the Princess of Wonderland from dangerous enemies. The enemies vary from spiders and snakes to a king kong inspired boss that looks quite unique.
Things I like about Amazing World of Ted:
- Gameplay similar to Super Mario Bros
- More control buttons and a complete joystick
- A variety of attack items
- Many enemy types with unique designs
One thing to note:
- The visuals feel too simple for my taste
Those are some of the best Super Mario themed games you can play on Android. Not all of them come from the Mario franchise, although several offer gameplay that feels close to the legendary series. Choose the one you want to try. If you want to play all of them, go ahead and enjoy the fun.
