Tutorial on How to Create Highlights on Instagram
Instagram is a hugely popular platform where users share their favorite moments through photos and videos. One useful feature is "Highlights," which lets you keep your Instagram stories displayed on your profile permanently.
This is great for showing off key moments, promoting your business, or just keeping your content themed and organized.
In this article, I'll walk you through the simple steps to set up Highlights on Instagram, helping you get the most out of this feature. Here’s how you can start creating your own Highlights on Instagram:
- Start by creating an Instagram Story like you normally would. You can make two, three, or even more Stories.
- Once you’ve got your Stories ready, head to your IG profile, tap the “+” sign, and choose “Story Highlight.”
- Next, pick the Instagram Story you want to highlight. You can also choose from your archived Stories. When you’re ready, tap “Next.”
- Now, give your Highlight a name. For example, if you’re highlighting sky photos, you might name it “Sky.”
- If you want to change the cover, just tap “Edit cover” and choose the photo you want as the cover image.
- After selecting the Story, naming it, and editing the cover, hit “Add” in the top right corner, and you're done!
Once you’ve added a Story to your Highlights, it will appear on your Instagram profile. People who follow you and those you follow can see your Highlights.
You can also see who’s viewed your Highlight if you add multiple Stories to it before 24 hours have passed.
To add a new Story to an existing Highlight, just tap the “Highlight” button on the Story and choose the right Highlight.
Instagram Highlights are made up of several Stories, and you can include up to dozens of them, believe it or not!
You can also add Stories from your Close Friends list to your Highlight, but only those on your Close Friends list will be able to view those Highlights.
Just a heads-up: Highlights on Instagram can’t be archived, but you can delete a Highlight or its title anytime you want. You can check out the Carisinyal team's article on how to delete an Instagram Highlight title if you need more info.
Sometimes, Highlights don’t show up on your profile, or you can’t see them. This is often due to a bad internet connection, so make sure your connection is stable when creating or checking your Highlights. If you can’t see someone else’s Highlight, they may have blocked you or removed their Highlight.
That’s a quick guide on how to create a Highlight on Instagram! By following these steps, you’ll be able to make and manage Highlights easily. This feature not only makes your profile look better, but it also helps keep important Stories front and center for your followers to see.
