5 Differences Between realme Note 70 and realme Note 60

realme continues to make durable smartphones in the entry-level category. Two of their models that stand out are the realme Note 70 and its predecessor, the realme Note 60. Both are powerful enough for outdoor use.

As the newer version, the realme Note 70 brings several improvements, including a better battery. However, that doesn’t mean the realme Note 60 is less capable. In fact, it still has some features that make it a good option. Here are the main differences between the two phones.

1. Design and Durability Certification

In terms of design, both phones look simple and elegant. The realme Note 70 has a slightly updated camera module. One of the circles on the back includes a feature called Pulse Light. This acts as both a flash and a notification light.

This feature is not found on the realme Note 60. Its camera module only has two circles. One interesting point is that the camera module on both phones matches the body color. The Note 60 comes in Voyage Blue and Marble Black, while the Note 70 is available in Beach Gold and Obsidian Black.

Both models have strong durability for their class. The realme Note 60 uses ArmorShell protection, making it resistant to drops and impacts. It also has a Shock-absorbing Circuit Board with seven layers of silicone that help reduce the shock more effectively.

The realme Note 70 improves on this by adding MIL-STD-810H certification on top of the ArmorShell. It is said to survive drops from 1.8 meters and support weight up to 33 kg.

In addition, both phones are resistant to dust and water splashes. They can even handle strong water jets. The Note 60 has an IP64 rating, while the Note 70 comes with IP54 certification.

2. UNISOC T7250 vs UNISOC T612

Now let’s talk about performance. The realme Note 70 is powered by the UNISOC T7250 chipset. This chipset is good enough for daily use, including light gaming with lower settings. It is actually a rebranded version of the UNISOC T612, which was used in the realme Note 60.

The UNISOC T7250 uses 12 nm technology and has eight CPU cores. It includes two ARM Cortex-A75 cores (1.8 GHz) for handling heavy tasks and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores (1.6 GHz) for better power efficiency. For graphics, it uses the Mali G57 MC2 GPU.

On the other hand, the UNISOC T612 also uses a 12 nm process and has the same number of CPU cores. It includes two Cortex-A75 cores (1.8 GHz) for performance and six Cortex-A55 cores (1.8 GHz) to save power. This chipset is paired with the Mali G57 MP1 GPU, running at 614 MHz.

Based on test results, the UNISOC T7250 in the realme Note 70 can reach an AnTuTu v10 score of up to 280,000. Meanwhile, the UNISOC T612 in the realme Note 60 scores around 240,000. With this level of performance, both phones can handle games like Mobile Legends at a stable 60 FPS for around two hours.

3. Memory Variants and Price

Another difference between the two phones is the memory options and pricing. Instead of offering bigger options, the realme Note 70 comes with smaller memory. It only has a 4 GB RAM version, with choices of 64 GB or 128 GB internal storage.

In comparison, the realme Note 60 gives more memory options, although the price is a bit higher. It comes with 4 GB, 6 GB, and even 8 GB of RAM. For internal storage, the choices are 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB.

If you need more space, both phones have a microSD slot to expand the storage. In general, bigger memory allows the phone to run more smoothly. You can choose the version that fits your budget.

4. Main Camera Resolution

Even though both phones are affordable, they still offer decent camera performance. Each phone has only one main camera on the back, and the lack of an ultrawide camera is normal for this price range.

The realme Note 60 uses a 32 MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture. Its quality is quite good for an entry-level phone. Surprisingly, the realme Note 70 lowers the main camera resolution to 13 MP with an f/2.2 aperture. While camera quality doesn’t always depend on resolution, this drop is still worth mentioning.

Even so, the photo results from both cameras may not be very different. Keep in mind that these are budget phones, so the camera features are limited. There is no autofocus or stabilization, which makes it harder to take clear photos or videos.

5. Battery Capacity

The realme Note 70 comes with a bigger battery at 6300 mAh (longer use than the Note 60), which has a 5000 mAh battery. This is a noticeable upgrade.

Based on realme’s claims, the Note 70 can last up to 46 hours for phone calls, 20 hours for watching YouTube, 19 hours on Instagram, and 10 hours for playing Mobile Legends.

It also supports quick top-ups. Just 5 minutes of charging can give more than 2 hours of talk time or over 5 hours of music on Spotify.

However, the charging speed has only slightly improved. The Note 60 supports 10W charging, and the Note 70 increases it to 15W, which is still quite basic.
