How to Disable WhatsApp Calls
WhatsApp is one of the most widely used conversation platform. Almost every day people check WhatsApp. Unfortunately, not all users like to open WhatsApp. There are times when we as users don't want to be disturbed at all through WhatsApp.
Let alone to pick up a call from someone on WhatsApp, replying to a message feels lazy. Well, even though WhatsApp has various interesting features in it, there is no special feature to hide or turn off calls.
However, I have prepared several ways that can be used for those of you who prefer not to be disturbed. The method is also quite easy and don't require any additional applications. Kindly refer to the end of this article for details.
1. Disable WhatsApp Call Notifications

You can achieve undisturbed time by disabling call notifications on WhatsApp. This not only allows you to mute notifications from specific contacts but also from group calls. Follow the steps below for a hassle-free setup.
- Firstly, open your WhatsApp application.

- Tap the three dots located at the top right corner.
- Then, choose the "Settings" option.

- Proceed to the "Notifications" menu since you're focusing on adjusting notifications.

- Under the Calls section, tap the "Ringtone" option.

- Next, select the "Sounds" option.

- Choose "None" to ensure no sound plays for incoming calls.
- Confirm your choice by pressing "OK."
- Besides muting call notifications, you can also silence notifications for text messages and groups.

- While in the Notifications section, tap the "Notification tone" under the Messages and Groups headings.
- Again, select the "Sounds" option and set it to "None" (This method is similar to changing the ringtone on a call).
- You also have the option to disable notifications for specific contacts or groups.

- To do this, long-press on the desired contact or group.
- Click on the mute notification icon, represented by a speaker with a line through it.

- Decide on the duration for which you'd like to mute notifications: "8 hours," "1 week," or "Always."
- Finally, tap "OK" to confirm your selections.
2. Block Unwanted WhatsApp Contacts

A direct approach to avoiding interruptions is to block specific contacts. By doing this, you effectively prevent any text messages or calls from reaching you from those particular numbers. Here's a simple guide to achieve this:
- The first step is to open your WhatsApp application.

- Next, tap on the three dots located at the top right corner and choose the "Settings" option.

- Here, select the "Privacy" option.

- Scroll down to find and select the "Blocked contacts" option.

- To block new contacts, tap the Add icon situated at the top right.
- After that, you can search for and select the contacts you wish to block.
- If you want to unblock them, it's straightforward as well.
- Follow the steps as mentioned above until you reach the "Blocked contacts" list and tap on the desired blocked contact's name.

- Finally, press "Unblock +[contact's phone number]" to remove them from the block list.
3. Activate the DND (Do Not Disturb) Feature

Beyond WhatsApp-specific settings, you can also harness your phone's built-in DND (Do Not Disturb) feature. This option is valuable for silencing notifications across all applications, encompassing both calls and chats from WhatsApp.
- The method is also quite easy. To begin, simply access the control panel or settings on your phone.

- Locate and tap on the DND (Do Not Disturb) option.
- Once activated, notifications, including those from WhatsApp, will be silenced.
- Besides muting sounds, this feature also disables any vibrations associated with incoming notifications or calls.
Those are several strategies you can employ to ensure that WhatsApp calls and messages don't disturb you. They are particularly beneficial for times when you want to concentrate on studying, work, or leisure activities like gaming or watching movies.
However, remember to revert to your original settings when you no longer need to be undisturbed, especially if you've chosen to block specific contacts. Best of luck, and enjoy your uninterrupted time!
