How to Increase & Manage RAM Capacity on Tecno Phones

Many smartphone brands offer RAM expansion features, and Tecno is no exception. They provide a feature called MemFusion (Memory Fusion), which allows users to increase RAM capacity.

Increasing RAM Through Memory Fusion

Memory Fusion operates by designating a portion of the internal storage to act as additional RAM. This enhances the RAM's multitasking capabilities, ensuring consistent and improved performance. For a detailed guide, please follow the steps below:

1. Open the Settings app. You can access it directly or via the notification bar at the top of your screen.
2. Scroll down and tap on the Special Function option.
3. Next, tap on MemFusion located at the top right.
4. To enable MemFusion, slide the toggle next to it until it turns blue.

Once activated, you can select the amount of virtual RAM to allocate, with options typically ranging from 2 GB, 3 GB, to 5 GB.

After making your selection, restart your phone to apply the changes. Your Tecno device will then automatically have increased RAM for improved performance.

Managing RAM Usage via Developer Options

If your Tecno phone doesn't have the Memory Fusion feature, there are alternative methods to enhance its RAM performance.

One effective approach is by managing the RAM usage directly on your Tecno device. This can be achieved using the developer options available on your phone, but you'll need to enable this feature first. For a detailed guide, please follow the steps provided below:

1. Enable Developer Options

Before accessing the Developer Options feature, you need to activate it first. Go to the Settings page and select My Phone. Then, find and tap on Version Info.

Next, tap the Build Number seven times in a row until a notification confirms that you have successfully enabled developer mode.

2. Open Developer Options

After enabling Developer Options, you can now access this feature, which is exclusively available to developers. To find it, go to the System menu on the main Settings page. Scroll down to the bottom and select Developer Options.

3. Turn off Background Process

In Developer Options, you'll find various settings to manage your Tecno phone. However, since our goal is to limit background processes, you need to look for the Background Process Limit option in the APL section, as shown in the image.

Once you find it, tap the menu and select No Background Processes to optimize your RAM performance. Then, restart your Tecno phone to ensure the changes take effect properly.

By limiting background processes, your RAM won’t fill up as quickly, leading to smoother and more efficient performance. This method is especially useful for resolving issues like lag or slow performance.
