4 Easy Ways to Remove Ads on Samsung Phones

Written by Ganjar Maulana

Recently, many budget smartphone brands have started displaying ads directly in their operating systems. These ads aren’t viruses or illegal; they’re intentionally included to help keep the product prices low.

Fortunately, Samsung isn’t one of the brands that does this. However, some users may still encounter annoying ads on their Samsung phones. So, where do these ads come from?

There are several possible reasons. Ads can be triggered by third-party apps or websites you’ve visited in your browser. Additionally, Samsung may occasionally display promotional information about their products.

If these ads are bothering you, Carisinyal has outlined some simple ways to remove them in this article. Curious to know how? Keep reading to find out!

Ads of Samsung Global Goals

Samsung Global Goals is a pre-installed app on some Samsung phones that promotes awareness of global issues like poverty, education, gender equality, climate change, and more. It’s a great app that allows users to contribute to these causes in simple ways, such as watching ads or donating to Global Goals programs.

One feature of the app is that it displays ads on the lock screen while your phone is charging. Personally, I don't find these ads too intrusive, especially since they support a good cause. However, not everyone feels the same way.

If you find these ads bothersome, you can simply delete the app from your Samsung phone. But if you want to keep the app and just disable the ads, you can follow these steps:

samsung global goals
  1. Open the Samsung Global Goals app.
  2. Tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Choose the Global Goals Charging Screen option.
  5. Slide the toggle to turn it off.

Ads on Google Chrome

When using Google Chrome to browse the web, we may not always notice that some sites can infiltrate our phones with advertisements. These ads can appear unexpectedly and consume your data if they keep showing up.

Fortunately, Google Chrome offers settings to help block these unwanted ads. To start, you can disable pop-up ads by following these steps:

chrome pop up ads
  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Scroll down and choose Site Settings.
  5. Select Pop-ups and redirects.
  6. Turn off the option.

Additionally, Google Chrome has a feature to block intrusive ads that disrupt your browsing experience. Here’s how to enable it:

chrome intrusive
  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Site Settings
  3. Select Intrusive Ads
  4. Turn off the option.

Ads of Samsung Internet

Samsung Internet is a built-in browser on Samsung phones that some users prefer over Google Chrome. However, like any other browser, it can also be vulnerable to unwanted ads if you're not careful while browsing the internet.

If your Samsung Internet app has been affected by annoying ads, you can remove them by following these steps:

samsung internet
  1. Open the Samsung Internet app
  2. Tap the three-line icon in the bottom right corner
  3. Select Settings
  4. Select Privacy dashboard
  5. Activate the Block pop-ups option

Ads from Apps

If you're seeing ads that aren’t coming from the Samsung Global Goals app or your browser, they are likely originating from one of the apps you've installed. These ads often appear as pop-ups or notifications.

Some ads indicate which app they come from, while others don’t, making it difficult to trace their source. If you encounter such ads, you'll need to identify the source manually. Typically, these ads are linked to apps you’ve recently installed or updated. Here’s how to identify them:

play store app
  1. Open the Play Store.
  2. Tap your account photo in the top right corner.
  3. Select Manage apps and devices.
  4. Go to the Manage tab.
  5. Sort the list by Recently updated.

Next, delete one app at a time, starting with the most recently installed or updated. After deleting each app, monitor whether the ads disappear.

  • If the ads go away, that app is likely the source of the ads.
  • If they persist, continue deleting apps in the order they appear until you find the culprit.

These are some easy ways to eliminate ads on Samsung phones. Now you can enjoy a more peaceful browsing experience without sudden interruptions from advertisements!
