7 Easy Ways to Take Screenshot on OPPO Phones
If you have an OPPO phone and are unsure how to take a screenshot, you’ve come to the right place! In this article, I’ll share several methods to take screenshots on OPPO devices, based on my personal experience.
I’ve tested these methods on multiple OPPO models. If you're curious, just follow the steps in the blue box below. For more detailed instructions, keep reading after the blue box, where I explain each method with pictures.
Using Physical Buttons
- Press the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously.
- Hold them for 2 seconds, and the phone will capture the screen.
Using Three-Finger Gesture
- On the screen you want to capture, place three fingers and swipe down.
- If it doesn’t work, go to Settings > Additional Settings > Screenshot > enable 3-finger swipe down.
Using Smart Sidebar
- Activate it via Settings > Special Features > Smart Sidebar > toggle on Smart Sidebar.
- Open the screen you want to capture. Swipe in the Smart Sidebar from the edge and tap the Screenshot icon (scissors logo).
Screenshot via Control Panel
- Swipe down from the top to access the Control Panel.
- Add the Screenshot icon to the panel (replace another icon if needed).
- Tap the Screenshot icon to capture the screen.
Using the Assistive Ball
- Go to Settings > Additional Settings > Assistive Ball > turn it on and set the operation mode to Tap Menu.
- A gray ball will appear on the screen.
- Open the area you want to capture, tap the ball, and select the Screenshot icon (scissors logo).
Using Game Space
- While playing a game, swipe left to open Game Space.
- Select the Screenshot option to take a screenshot without interrupting gameplay.
Using the Accessibility Menu
- Go to Settings > Additional Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Menu.
- Turn on the Shortcut option.
- A green box or person icon will appear on the side of the screen.
- Tap it, then select Screenshot from the menu.
1. Using the Power + Volume Key Combination

Here's how to take a screenshot using the power and volume buttons — the most common method across Android devices. Follow these steps to capture your screen on an OPPO phone:
- Open the screen you want to capture.
- Press the power button and volume down button at the same time. Hold them briefly.
- You'll hear a shutter sound and see the screen flash, indicating the screenshot was successful.
The screenshot will appear in your notifications or in your gallery. If you want to take a longer screenshot, tap the "Scroll" option that shows up right after capturing the screen. This will let you capture the entire page.
2. Using the Three-Finger Gesture

The second method for taking a screenshot is by using a three-finger gesture, which I often use with OPPO phones. Here's how it works:
- Open the screen you want to capture.
- Swipe down on the screen with three fingers to take the screenshot.
If this gesture doesn't work, the feature might be disabled and needs to be activated in the settings.

To enable this feature, go to Additional Settings > Screenshot, and toggle on 3-finger swipe down. If it’s already enabled, no further action is needed.
3. Using Smart Sidebar

Another way to take a screenshot on OPPO phones is by using the Smart Sidebar. This feature needs to be activated first. To enable it:
- Open Settings and go to Special Features.
- Select Smart Sidebar and toggle it on.
Once activated, a white line will appear on the right side (from your perspective) or the top left corner of the screen.

Simply drag the white line toward the center of the screen. A menu with several icons will appear, including the screenshot icon (marked with a scissors symbol). Tap the screenshot icon, and the captured image will be saved automatically.
4. Take Screenshot via Control Panel

This is another easy way to take a screenshot. Just swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Control Panel, where you’ll find icons for Wi-Fi, Mobile Data, screen brightness, flashlight, GPS, and other settings.
To take a screenshot, you can simply drag the screen from top to bottom. Then look for the screenshot icon, usually represented by a square or scissors symbol.
If you don't see the icon, you can customize the control panel by rearranging the icons. For example, you could replace the Personal Hotspot or Eye Comfort icons with the Screenshot icon, whichever suits your preference.
Once you tap the screenshot icon, the screen will be captured instantly, and the result will be saved to your gallery.
5. Using Assistive Ball

Another way to take a screenshot on OPPO phones is by using the Assistive Ball. To use this feature, you’ll need to activate it first. Here are the steps:
- Open Settings.
- Go to Additional Settings.
- Select Assistive Ball.
- Toggle on Assistive Ball and choose the Tap Menu operation mode.

Once the Tap Menu is activated, a movable gray ball will appear on the screen. When you tap the ball, several options will pop up, including Take a Screenshot (marked with a scissors icon).
In the example shown (referencing images 1 and 2), you’ll see how this works. In image 2, there’s also an option to adjust the transparency level of the Assistive Ball icon. Meanwhile, image 3 shows the customization menu, where you can modify the actions available through the Assistive Ball.
For instance, you can replace the Home Screen option with One-handed mode or swap Go Back with the Notification drawer—whichever suits your preference.
Using the Assistive Ball makes it easy to take screenshots while navigating, giving you quick access to functions without interrupting your tasks.
6. Using Game Space

There’s one feature that many OPPO users may not know about: Game Space. While it might not be available on every device, most newer OPPO phones include this feature. Game Space offers several useful tools, including the ability to take screenshots while playing games.
To do so, please log in to a specific game. For example, I'm playing Free Fire. While playing the game, swipe left until Game Space appears. Next, select the Screenshot option. The phone will take a screenshot without interrupting the game.
7. Using the Accessibility Menu

This method is another way to take screenshots, and it works not just on OPPO phones but also on other Android devices since it’s a built-in Android feature. Here’s how to use the Accessibility Menu to take a screenshot:
- Open Settings and go to Additional Settings.
- Select Accessibility.
- Tap on Accessibility Menu.
- Toggle the Shortcut option from off to on.

Once the Accessibility Menu is activated, a green box or shortcut icon will appear on the right side of the screen. On some OPPO phones, this icon may appear as a figure of a person.

Tap the icon, then look for the Screenshot option to capture your screen.
These are some of the ways you can take screenshots on OPPO phones. Try them out and choose the method that feels most comfortable for you!
