5 Differences between Samsung Galaxy A07 and Galaxy A06
The Samsung Galaxy A0x Series has a special place in the phone market. This is because the phones come with low prices but still have a premium Samsung style. The newest models in this series are the Samsung Galaxy A07 and the older Samsung Galaxy A06.
The Samsung Galaxy A07 brings some clear upgrades. For example, the screen is better, the performance is stronger, and the phone has a longer update guarantee. To help you see the changes, here are some main differences between the Galaxy A07 and the Galaxy A06.
1. Design and IP Rating

The Samsung Galaxy A07 looks different because it now has a black camera module on the back. This module is small and combines two camera circles. In the Galaxy A06, the two cameras are placed directly on the body without a module, so the design looks more plain.
The Galaxy A07 also has fresher colours for 2025; Gray, Light Blue, and Dark Green. The Galaxy A06 comes in Black, Silver, and Light Green.
Both models still use polycarbonate plastic with a vertical line pattern on the back. When the light hits at a certain angle, the back shows a unique shine with darker tones on the other side.
The Galaxy A07 also has an IP rating, IP54. This means it is safe from dust and light water splashes. It is not the best protection, but at least it has a certification.
2. Screen Refresh Rate

The Galaxy A07 has a 6.7-inch display with a PLS LCD panel. The resolution is HD+ (720 x 1600 pixels), similar to other low-cost phones. This screen feels closer in quality to the Galaxy A06 5G.
The reason is that the Galaxy A07 already supports a 90 Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy A06 4G version is still at 60 Hz only. A higher refresh rate makes the screen movement smoother, for example when you scroll social media, browse the internet, or play games.
In other parts, the screens of both phones are quite similar. They both still use a waterdrop notch for the front camera. This design looks a bit old compared to other phones that now use a punch-hole style.
3. Helio G99 vs Helio G85

One of the biggest upgrades on the Samsung Galaxy A07 is its performance. In the past, this series was often weaker than other brands. Now it comes with the Helio G99 chipset. This is a 4G chipset often found in mid-range phones, even in models made for gaming.
The Helio G99 is clearly stronger than the Helio G85 used in the Samsung Galaxy A06. This makes the Galaxy A07 better for multitasking, browsing, and gaming.
The Helio G99 is built with a 6 nm process and has eight CPU cores. Two Cortex A76 cores (2.2 GHz) give power, while six Cortex A55 cores (2.0 GHz) save energy. The GPU is Mali G57 MP2 with a speed of 1000 MHz.
In comparison, the Helio G85 uses a 12 nm process. It also has eight cores; two Cortex A75 cores (2.0 GHz) for power and six Cortex A55 cores (1.8 GHz) for efficiency. Its GPU is Mali G52, running at 1 GHz.
4. Memory Capacity and Type

Performance on the Galaxy A07 is also supported by its memory. This phone comes with more options and bigger capacity than the Galaxy A06. The smallest Galaxy A07 version has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. For 2025, this is too small. The best choice is the top version with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.
The Galaxy A06 also starts with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. Its top version has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. For today, this feels limited and may not last long.
Both phones still provide a dedicated microSD slot. So users can expand the storage without losing space for the SIM card.
Another difference is the type of storage used. Since it uses the Helio G99, the Galaxy A07 can use UFS storage, which is faster than the eMMC storage in the Galaxy A06. Faster storage makes booting quicker, apps load faster, and multitasking smoother.
5. OS Upgrade Guarantee

The Samsung Galaxy A07, released in 2025, runs Android 15 with One UI 7. The Galaxy A06, launched in 2024, came with Android 14 and One UI 5.1. From this, it is already clear that the A07 is ahead in software.
The best part is Samsung’s promise for the A07. It will get up to six OS upgrades, meaning it can reach Android 21. Security updates will continue until 2031. It is rare to see a budget phone that can last for so many years.
The Galaxy A06 only has two OS upgrades, up to Android 16. Its security updates are planned until 2028, three years after release.
Even though the A07 runs One UI 7, some advanced AI features are limited because the hardware is not strong enough. Still, the Galaxy A07 5G includes Circle to Search, a feature that lets you quickly search for information on the screen.
These are the main differences between the two entry-level Samsung phones. The Galaxy A07 clearly brings many upgrades, from design and screen to performance and software support.
So, which one would you choose, the new Galaxy A07 or the older Galaxy A06?
