7 Differences Between Tecno Spark 40 Pro and Infinix Hot 60 Pro

People may know Infinix Hot Pro Series for its good value for the price. The mid-range model is the most balanced choice, which is the Infinix Hot 60 Pro. The Tecno Spark 40 Pro is also a mid-range option. Both are cheaper than the top models but stronger than the basic ones.

Even though the names are different, both phones come from the same parent company, Transsion Holdings. In general, their performance is close to each other. Still, there are some details that make each phone stand out in its own way. Let’s look at the key differences between the Tecno Spark 40 Pro and Infinix Hot 60 Pro.

1. Thickness and Color Variants

In terms of design, both phones have a similar camera layout. On the back, there are three small circles placed vertically. The Infinix Hot 60 Pro uses a shape that looks closer to a square, and there is a module that connects the three circles.

Although these are affordable phones, both give a comfortable grip. Their thickness is almost the same. The Tecno Spark 40 Pro has a body thickness of 6.7 mm, while the Infinix Hot 60 Pro is 6.6 mm. The difference is very small, and most people will not notice it.

Another difference is the choice of colors. The Tecno Spark 40 Pro only has three options; Ink Black, Lake Blue, and Moon Titanium. The finish is a smooth matte with a solid tone.

The Infinix Hot 60 Pro gives more options with six color variants, such as Sapphire Blue, Titanium Silver, Sleek Black, and Coral Tides. There are also two special editions called Jungle Breath and Orange Rose Valley, which use a unique striped leather material.

The highlight of these special variants is the use of Energizing Scent-Tech. As the name suggests, the body gives off a pleasant smell. This is possible because of microencapsulation technology. Infinix first introduced this feature on the Note 50X 5G and Note 50S 5G.

2. Helio G100 Ultimate vs Helio G200

The Infinix Hot 60 Pro uses the Helio G200 chipset, which is strong for its price. This chipset is the successor to the Helio G100 used by the Tecno Spark 40 Pro. Tecno calls it the “Helio G100 Ultimate,” but this name is only for marketing. It does not mean the chipset is a higher version.

Like the Helio G99 compared to the G100, the Helio G200 only brings small changes in the camera and connectivity. The performance is almost the same.

The Helio G200 still uses a 6 nm process, the same as the Helio G100. The architecture is also unchanged, with eight cores; two Cortex A76 cores (2.2 GHz) for performance and six Cortex A55 cores (2.0 GHz) for efficiency.

One difference is the GPU. The Helio G200 has a Mali G57 MC2 with a frequency of 1100 MHz, while the Helio G100 uses a Mali G57 MP2 with a frequency of 1000 MHz.

Based on test results, the Helio G200 on the Infinix Hot 60 Pro can reach an AnTuTu v10 score of around 460,000. The Helio G100 Ultimate on the Tecno Spark 40 Pro gets about 430,000. The difference is not big, so both phones can handle multitasking and casual gaming smoothly.

3. Front Camera Video Recording Quality

The rear cameras of these two phones are almost the same. Each has a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.6 aperture and PDAF for autofocus. This is the only reliable camera, since there is no ultrawide lens or other extra options.

Video recording on the back camera is also quite good for an entry-level phone. Both the Tecno Spark 40 Pro and the Infinix Hot 60 Pro can record videos up to 2K (1440p) at 30 FPS.

The difference is on the front. Both use a 13 MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture, but their video recording is not equal. The Infinix Hot 60 Pro gives the same quality on both front and back cameras, with video recording up to 2K (1440p) 30 FPS.

This makes the Infinix Hot 60 Pro a better option for vlogging. On the other hand, the Tecno Spark 40 Pro can only record at 1080p 30 FPS on the front camera. Still, do not expect too much from either phone. They are both entry-level devices made to be affordable.

4. Exclusive Adaptive One-Tap Button Feature

On the side of the body, the Infinix Hot 60 Pro has more buttons. Besides the power and volume buttons, it also comes with an exclusive Adaptive One-Tap button.

This button is placed just below the power button. Its function is simple: it works as a shortcut to quickly open features such as the camera, flashlight, gallery, voice recorder, and more. This feature is not available on the Tecno Spark 40 Pro.

5. Stereo vs Mono Speakers

Tecno Spark 40 Pro

The speaker system is another clear difference. The Tecno Spark 40 Pro is better in this part because it uses stereo speakers. It has two speaker holes, one at the top and one at the bottom. The sound feels more balanced and gives a stereo effect.

Tecno also adds a Volume Plus feature. This feature allows the volume to go beyond the normal 100 percent, up to 300 percent. The sound becomes very powerful, but this option is best used only in special cases, for example when answering a call in a noisy place.

The Infinix Hot 60 Pro, on the other hand, only has a mono speaker. There is one speaker hole at the bottom of the body. It seems Infinix focused more on design, screen, and chipset improvements but did not include dual speakers.

Having only one speaker affects daily use. The sound is less loud and not as clear. Luckily, this phone still has a 3.5 mm audio jack, so you can use wired earphones for clearer and more comfortable sound.

6. Gyro Sensor

Infinix Hot 60 Pro

Another difference is the gyro sensor. The Infinix Hot 60 Pro is better in this part because it uses a hardware gyro. A hardware gyro is more responsive than the software-based version on the Tecno Spark 40 Pro.

The gyro sensor improves the gaming experience, especially for FPS games such as PUBG Mobile, COD Mobile, and racing games. With a hardware gyro, aiming and controlling direction feels easier. The response is quick, with almost no delay.

7. Battery Capacity

Tecno Spark 40 Pro

The Tecno Spark 40 Pro has a slightly bigger battery at 5200 mAh, compared to the 5160 mAh battery of the Infinix Hot 60 Pro. The difference is so small that it is hard to notice in daily use.

Both phones offer good battery life for entry-level devices. Since they use similar chipsets, the Helio G100 Ultimate and Helio G200, their power use is also quite efficient. You can expect solid performance for watching videos, browsing, and gaming.

The charging speed is the same on both phones. They support 45W fast charging, which can fully charge the battery in about 55 minutes, based on company claims. They also have reverse wired charging to power other devices like phones, smartwatches, or TWS earbuds.

Those are the main differences between the Tecno Spark 40 Pro and the Infinix Hot 60 Pro. Overall, they are quite similar because they come from the same parent brand. Still, some features may help you decide, such as the design, the speaker system, and the gyro sensor.

So, which one do you think suits you better?
