At a similar price, this phone has almost the same features as the Tecno Spark 40 Pro. It uses the Helio G200 chipset and also supports wireless charging. This is not common for phones in this price range. So, here are the pros and cons of the Tecno Spark 40 Pro+.

Pros of Tecno Spark 40 Pro+

The Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ has better features than other models in the series, but it still costs only $200. At this price, here are some good things about the phone:

1. Elegant Thin Curved Design

The Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ is the only phone in the Spark 40 Series with a curved design. Its corners are also more rounded, so the phone looks stylish. Some people think this design looks a bit old, but the Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ still looks different from other phones in the series.

The curved body makes the phone feel thinner. Its thickness is only 6.49mm, and this makes it comfortable to hold. The curved sides also help your hand hold the phone more easily. The phone weighs only 10 grams, so it's recommended for people who travel or move a lot.

The Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ comes in four colours; Moon Titanium, Aurora White, Nebula Black, and Tundra Green. From the photos, it looks like only the Tundra Green version uses faux leather, which gives it a special look. The other colours have a matte finish.

The phone also has IP64 certification. This means it is safe from dust and small splashes of water. It can also survive if it falls from a height of 1.5 metres.

2. Curved AMOLED Display with 144 Hz Refresh Rate

Let’s talk about the screen. This phone also uses a curved screen, so it looks more premium and expensive. This is one of the main differences from the Tecno Spark 40 Pro. Personally, I prefer a flat screen, but many people like the curved one because it shows more of the screen.

But is the Helio G200 a big upgrade? Unfortunately, not really. Just like the Helio G100, it mainly improves camera and network features from the older Helio G99. The overall performance is almost the same.

The Helio G200 is still made with a 6 nm process, just like the two older models. Its CPU also has a similar setup, with eight cores. Two of them are Cortex A76 cores that run at 2.2 GHz for power. The other six are Cortex A55 cores that run at 2.0 GHz to save energy.

6. Good Results from the 50 MP Main Camera

The phone also supports 10W reverse charging. This means you can use it to charge other devices like a smartwatch or wireless earphones. It also has a feature called ByPass Charging. With this feature, you can still play games while the phone is charging.

Cons of Tecno Spark 40 Pro+

1. No Support for 5G Network

One of the main drawbacks is that the Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ does not support 5G networks. This is why it still uses a chipset for 4G only. Even though the performance is already good for multitasking and gaming at this price, the lack of 5G may be a problem for some people.

Tecno says that the phone supports a faster version of 4G, called 4.5G. This version is better than regular 4G. The download speed can reach up to 300 Mbps, which is quite good for a phone that costs around Rp3 million.

Still, the missing 5G feature could be a disadvantage. Many phones now already support 5G at the same price or even lower. Some examples include the itel P55 5G, Infinix Hot 50 5G, Samsung Galaxy M15 5G, Tecno POVA 6 Pro 5G, and iQOO Z9x.

2. No Ultrawide Camera

As mentioned before, the Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ only has one working camera on the back. Even though there are three camera circles, the other two are just depth sensors and for looks.

It would be better if Tecno added an ultrawide camera instead of a depth sensor. An ultrawide camera can take photos with a wider view. You can fit more things into one photo frame.

But Tecno had to make some changes to keep the price low. This is a common reason for phones in this price range that do not have an ultrawide camera.
