The Pros and Cons of the Infinix Hot 60i

Even with a limited budget, you can now get a well-rounded and attractive smartphone. One example is the Infinix Hot 60i. Overall, this phone offers similar features to its predecessor, the Infinix Hot 50i. However, Infinix has made some improvements in a few areas.

Besides upgrading some features, the Infinix Hot 60i also comes with new ones that were not available in the previous model. Worry not! This phone is still priced affordably at around $110. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros of Infinix Hot 60i

1. Simple and slim body design, but still strong

Infinix Hot 60i

The Infinix Hot 60i has a similar design to other phones in the same series, such as the Infinix Hot 60 5G. It features three round shapes arranged vertically in a slightly boxy design. These are placed above a simple-looking camera module that helps make the phone look neat and clean.

The design also takes inspiration from the previous Infinix Hot 50 series. Personally, I prefer the look of the Infinix Hot 60 5G, which has a horizontal camera layout. It brings a fresh design to the Infinix Hot lineup.

This phone is 7.7 mm thick and weighs 188 grams. The body is made from polycarbonate plastic with a matte finish. It feels smooth and does not easily show fingerprint marks. There are six color options; Titanium Silver, Sleek Black, Neon Red, Shadow Blue, Meadow Green, and Soul Eye Purple.

In terms of durability, the Infinix Hot 60i has an IP64 rating. This means it's protected against dust and splashes of water. It can survive light rain, but it is not safe in heavy rain or if it gets submerged in water. The phone is also said to survive drops from a height of up to 1.5 meters.

2. Long-Lasting 5160 mAh Battery with Fast Charging

Infinix Hot 60i

Even though the Infinix Hot 60i has a slim body, it still holds a large 5160 mAh battery. This battery size is the same as the one in the Infinix Hot 60 Pro. So, the battery life should also be similar for different types of usage.

The Infinix Hot 60i is said to have a good battery life even after long use. According to the company, the battery can stay above 80 percent health after about 5 years of use, or around 1800 charging cycles.

For charging, this phone supports 45W fast charging, just like the Infinix Hot 60 Pro. It is claimed that the phone can reach 50 percent in only 24 minutes. This is fast, especially for a phone priced around US$100.

The Infinix Hot 60i also supports reverse charging, which means it can charge other devices. There is also a feature called ByPass Charging that helps the phone stay cool while charging, especially during gaming. It keeps the phone performance stable while you play.

3. Infinix AI Infinite Makes Daily Tasks Easier

Infinix Hot 60i

At launch, the Infinix Hot 60i came with the Android 15 operating system and the XOS 15.1 user interface. This interface is known for its many useful features and easy customization. Some features include on-screen settings, floating windows, split screen, and a smart panel.

The phone also comes with AI features called Infinix AI Infinite, which has the infinity symbol as its logo. These AI tools are divided into two main types. The first helps with daily tasks, and the second supports creativity.

For daily help, there is a virtual assistant called Folax. This assistant can do tasks like summarising, answering questions, and writing.

For creativity, the AI offers tools such as AI Eraser and Expand. These can improve your drawings or even turn a rough sketch into a better image. There is also an AIGC feature, which can create fun wallpapers or pictures based on your ideas.

4. Complete Sensors and Connectivity: Gyro Hardware, NFC, and Infrared

Infinix Hot 60i

One interesting thing about the Infinix Hot 60i is its more complete sensor support. It has a hardware gyro sensor, which is more responsive than the software version. This sensor is useful for playing FPS games like PUBG Mobile or COD Mobile. It helps make the gameplay smoother and more fun.

In terms of connectivity, the Infinix Hot 60i is also well-equipped. It supports WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.4. There is also an Infrared blaster, which allows the phone to act as a remote control for electronic devices like TVs, air conditioners, or projectors.

Another helpful feature is NFC (Near Field Communication). Many budget phones now include this feature. It lets you make digital payments, check and top up e-money, or use your phone as a toll card.

5. Special Adaptive One-Tap Button and UltraLink Free Call

Infinix Hot 60i

Besides upgrades, the Infinix Hot 60i also offers some new features. One of them is the Adaptive One-Tap Button, which is also found in the Infinix Hot 60 5G. This is a small button placed below the power button. It acts as a shortcut to open certain apps or tools quickly, such as the camera, flashlight, or gallery.

If you often go to places with weak or no signal, there is a solution. The Infinix Hot 60i includes a feature called UltraLink Free Call. This allows you to call another phone without using any mobile network. The distance can go beyond 500 meters. This feature is great for outdoor activities like hiking or exploring remote areas.

6. Bright and Comfortable Screen with 120 Hz Refresh Rate

Infinix Hot 60i

The screen on the Infinix Hot 60i is quite interesting. It has a large size of 6.7 inches with a screen-to-body ratio of 85.2 percent. The resolution is still HD or 720 x 1600 pixels. Even so, the screen still gives sharp and clear colors, which are good enough for watching videos or playing games.

Just like the previous model, the screen uses an IPS LCD panel, not AMOLED. This is understandable for an entry-level phone. One special feature is the clock that appears on the screen after it is locked. This is similar to the Always-on Display feature that is usually only available on AMOLED screens.

Another highlight is the smooth screen movement. The phone supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling and animations feel smooth. You can also choose to set the refresh rate at 90 Hz or 60 Hz to save battery.

The screen brightness can reach up to 700 nits (HBM). This is not very bright for outdoor use, but it is still comfortable if you are not under direct sunlight.

7. Enjoyable Stereo Speakers with Up to 300 Percent Volume

Infinix Hot 60i

The Infinix Hot 60i has two speakers to give it stereo sound. One speaker is at the top and the other at the bottom of the phone. This is different from many phones that only use the earpiece as the second speaker. Because of this placement, the sound is more balanced.

With two speakers, listening to music, watching movies, or playing games becomes more fun. The stereo sound is better than phones with only one speaker.

The phone also includes a feature called Ultra Volume. This can increase the sound to more than 100 percent, up to 300 percent. It's useful when making calls in noisy places like train stations, markets, or concerts.

However, keep in mind that the bottom speaker is louder than the top one. So, the stereo effect may not be perfect. Still, it is much better than using just a mono speaker.

8. Good 50 MP Main Camera with 2K Video Recording

Infinix Hot 60i

Now let’s talk about the camera. The Infinix Hot 60i has three cameras on the back, but only the main one is truly useful. The others are just a depth sensor or for decoration. This is also seen in other phones from the same series. Infinix needs to improve this part.

The main rear camera has 50 MP resolution with an f/1.6 aperture and a 1/2.8-inch sensor. Unfortunately, there is no stabilization feature. It only has autofocus to help keep the picture sharp.

This camera can record videos up to 2K resolution or 1440p at 30 frames per second. This is better than many other phones that can only record in 1080p.

For the front camera, it has an 8 MP lens with an f/2.0 aperture and a 1/4-inch sensor. However, there are no extra features to support the camera. The front video recording is also limited to 1080p at 30 frames per second.

One thing to remember is that video recording may feel shaky when you walk. This happens because the phone does not have any stabilization feature. Also, it lacks an ultrawide lens, which limits the photo options.

Cons of Infinix Hot 60i

Even though the Infinix Hot 60i has many good features, it is still a budget smartphone. There are a few things you need to consider before buying:

1. Good for Daily Use, but Not for Heavy Gaming

Infinix Hot 60i

The Infinix Hot 60i uses the Helio G81 Ultimate chipset. This is the same chipset used in the previous model, the Infinix Hot 50i. Other phones that use this chipset include the Tecno Spark 30C, POCO C75, and Redmi 15C.

This chipset is fine for daily use. It can handle multitasking well, especially with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. However, the Helio G81 Ultimate is not strong enough for heavy games or demanding multitasking. It may start to lag or slow down if pushed too hard.

In a performance test, Infinix claimed that the Helio G81 Ultimate can reach an AnTuTu v10 score of up to 280,000. But in a video by Ben Freeman, the score reached only around 260,000. Based on this score, the phone can still run casual games smoothly. But for heavier games, the performance will likely struggle.

2. Still Using eMMC Storage, Slower Than UFS

Infinix Hot 60i

The Infinix Hot 60i offers large memory options with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. It also supports a microSD card for extra storage. However, the internal memory still uses eMMC technology.

eMMC storage has some drawbacks. It is slower compared to UFS, especially when you copy, move, or extract files. This can make the phone feel slower during these tasks.

The good side of eMMC is that it is cheaper to produce. That is why many budget smartphones still use eMMC to keep the price low.

Conclusion

The Infinix Hot 60i is one of the Hot Series phones that is worth considering. It not only brings improvements compared to the previous model, but also offers new and exclusive features. One of the highlights is the Adaptive One-Tap button, which gives quick access to certain menus.

Released in 2025, the Infinix Hot 60i runs on XOS 15.1, one of the most flexible Android interfaces. It comes with several AI features that can help with daily tasks or support creativity.

The performance is good because it uses the Helio G81 Ultimate chipset and large memory options. However, it still uses eMMC storage, which is slower than UFS. This makes it less suitable for heavy gaming.

For a low-cost phone, the Infinix Hot 60i also has a strong battery with 45W fast charging. This is a rare feature in this price range, where most phones only support up to 20W. Other features like the screen, speakers, design, and extra tools also make this phone worth considering. So, are you interested?
