How to Turn Off Autocorrect on Samsung Phone

Disabling Predictive Text

The first way to turn off autocorrect is by disabling the Predictive Text feature. Follow these steps to do so:

1. Open Settings on your Samsung phone.
2. Scroll down and select the General management menu.
3. In the General management menu, tap Samsung Keyboard settings.
4. Slide the toggle to the left on the Predictive text option to turn off the autocorrect feature.

Once you've done this, the autocorrect feature will be deactivated. You will no longer see underlined words or word suggestions above the keyboard. The words you type will remain as you enter them, without any automatic changes.

If you want to turn predictive text back on, just follow the same steps but toggle the Predictive text option to the right.

Changing the Keyboard Language

If autocorrect is causing issues because of language mismatch, changing or adding the appropriate language on your Samsung keyboard can help. When we use the appropriate language, autocorrect can actually help to correct our writing to make it more readable.

Therefore, changing the language on the keyboard can be another solution to the problem of inappropriate autocorrect. Well, here are the steps:

1. Go to Keyboard Settings

The first step is to go to Settings on your Samsung phone. Next, scroll down and tap General management. Then, select the Samsung Keyboard Settings.

2. Select Language

Next, please select the Languages and types and then select the Manage input languages. Here you will see a list of languages supported by the Samsung keyboard. Slide the toggle to the right to enable the language you want.

If the language you want is not installed, then you have to download it first in the Available languages section. Tap the down arrow icon to download it. Once downloaded, you can simply slide the toggle to activate it.
