5 Best and Most Exciting Zombie Games on Android

Written by Sera Serinda A

In recent years, zombie-themed entertainment has become very popular. You can find it in movies, books, and of course, games. These creepy creatures that hunt humans have become a favourite topic for many developers.

In the gaming world, the zombie theme is nothing new. Since the early days of consoles, there have been many famous zombie games, from Resident Evil to the fun Plants vs Zombies. Now, there are also plenty of great zombie games available for Android.

Here are some of the best zombie games you can try on your Android device.

1. Garena Undawn

When I first played Garena Undawn, I was amazed by its stunning graphics. The MMORPG concept is also quite interesting. In this game, you’re not only fighting zombies but also helping the main character survive. You’ll build a shelter, find food, cook, keep clean, and make sure your character gets enough rest.

This game also has an open-world system, so you’re free to explore as you like. Just remember to complete your missions too.

Another thing I really enjoy is the storyline. You play as a survivor living in a world full of zombies. Along the way, you’ll meet a group of other survivors called The Raven. Under the leadership of Cain, you’ll take on many exciting and challenging missions.

In the beginning, you’ll be accompanied by Sherry, a teammate and your character’s old friend. Crafting is also a big part of the game. You can create items like bullets and weapons from scratch.

While the concept and story may not be completely new, the combination of visuals, gameplay, and story makes Garena Undawn one of the best zombie games on Android.

What I like about Garena Undawn:

  • Amazing, cinematic graphics
  • Detailed survival features
  • Huge open-world with many activities
  • Interesting story and strong characters
  • Useful crafting system

Things to note:

  • Large file size and needs a powerful device
  • Hard to play on low-spec phones

2. Into the Dead 2

Into the Dead 2 is a continuation of the first game, but with many improvements. This sequel has got more features, tougher challenges, and more intense gameplay.

The storyline, voice acting, and graphics are all excellent. The dark atmosphere makes the game even more thrilling. Your main goal is to survive while killing as many zombies as you can.

Like many survival horror games, Into the Dead 2 also allows you to craft weapons. As your level increases, you can use stronger weapons, but the zombies will also become harder to defeat.

What I like about Into the Dead 2:

  • Strong story and voice acting
  • Immersive graphics and setting
  • Levels and challenges that get tougher over time

Things to note:

  • Some levels can feel repetitive
  • The file size is quite large

3. Dead Target

In Dead Target, you play as a member of a city protection sniper team who must destroy zombies. This game is an FPS where you have to shoot zombies coming from different directions.

Your aim must be accurate. If you only shoot their legs or body, the zombies will only stumble and stop for a short time. The deadliest target is the head, so make sure your headshots are accurate to kill them faster.

The weapons in this game are not only guns. You can also upgrade your combat gloves and use drones to help with the attacks.

For a mobile game, Dead Target has smooth and detailed graphics. The recoil control is quite strong, so you need to stay calm and focused to defeat the endless wave of zombies.

What I like about Dead Target:

  • Many weapon types, not only pistols
  • Good sound and visual effects
  • Addictive first-person shooting experience
  • Realistic recoil
  • Zombie speed is not too fast, so it is still easy to handle

One thing to note:

  • Some levels feel repetitive after long play

4. Left to Survive

Left to Survive is a Third-Person Shooter (TPS) game. You play as one of the survivors in a world full of zombies. Together with other survivors, you must shoot zombies while collecting resources to build a shelter.

This game is very intense because many zombies come quickly. The types of zombies also vary. Some can be killed with one shot, while others are very strong. There are also giant zombie monsters that are harder to defeat.

Besides the shooting action, this game has a base-building feature. After clearing an area from zombies, you and your team are taken by helicopter to a shelter. There, you must plan strategies to manage resources and strengthen your base for the next attacks.

Things I like about Left to Survive:

  • Combines TPS and base-building, making it unique and not boring
  • Has a weapon upgrade system
  • Different types of zombies make the game more exciting

One thing to note:

  • Zombies appear quickly, so players must react fast

5. DEAD TRIGGER 2

If you think the graphics in Into the Dead are great, you will find even better ones in Dead Trigger 2. In this game, you can explore 10 regions in different parts of the world. In these regions, there are 35 types of environments to face, from cities and mountains to wilderness areas.

I tried playing one of the campaigns that had several missions. The interesting thing is that I could choose the mission difficulty: easy, normal, or hard. Finishing the missions is not too hard. Each mission is also short. You can complete one in less than 10 minutes.

My favorite part of the game is the crafting skill. You can make your own items, such as painkillers to recover health. Unfortunately, the graphics look quite ordinary. But I really like the controls. You don't need to press many buttons because the game uses automatic controls.

What I like about DEAD TRIGGER 2:

  • Large world with 10 regions and 35 environments
  • Missions are fast-paced with different difficulty options
  • Automatic controls are practical and easy to use
  • Gameplay feels exciting but still light to play

Things to note:

  • Some missions are too short
  • Graphics are quite average for today’s standards

That’s my list of the best zombie games. From this list, which one is your favourite? Or do you have other games that should be added to it?
