Complete List of Cheats for NFS Most Wanted for PC

Written by Ahmad Tsalis

Electronic Arts (EA) released a racing game that became very popular, especially among Millennials. Need for Speed (NFS) Most Wanted, launched in November 2005, is one of those games that many people still remember. But why was it so great?

NFS Most Wanted combined two elements from earlier games in the NFS series. It had the open world from NFS Underground and the exciting police chases from NFS Hot Pursuit 2. The game's story had an unexpected twist at the end, and the graphics were impressive for its time.

It's no wonder that the game sold over 16 million copies worldwide, making NFS Most Wanted the best-selling game in the NFS series.

If you're feeling nostalgic, why not play it again? And if you’ve never tried it, this game should definitely be on your list of top racing games.

The best part is that NFS Most Wanted doesn’t require a high-end computer. Like many other games, it also has hidden cheat codes that unlock special items.

In this article, we’ll share all the cheat codes with you. But first, let’s check out the game’s minimum system requirements, story, and gameplay.

Storyline

You are a street racer who has just arrived in a town called Rockport. You explore the town to get the attention of other racers. Soon, you meet a young woman named Mia Townsend, who seems to be a member of a local racing gang called the Blacklist.

While you are talking with Mia, Sergeant Jonathan Cross suddenly appears. He comes in a Chevrolet Corvette and tries to arrest you because he knows your BMW M3 GTR has been modified and will probably be used for street racing.

Mia runs away when Cross arrives. Cross also leaves quickly when his walkie-talkie rings, telling him there is an illegal race nearby. Before he leaves, he warns you that he will arrest you if he sees you again.

A few days later, you meet another racer from the Blacklist, Ronald McCrea, also called Ronnie. Ronnie challenges you to a one-on-one race. You beat him easily. The boss of the Blacklist, Clarence Callahan or Razor, hears about this and gets very angry.

Razor challenges you to a race. Mia suggests that the loser should give the winner their car and money (pink slip). Razor agrees but says you must first defeat some rookie racers like Rog and his friends, and also Bull (Toru Sato), who is ranked just above Ronnie.

You manage to beat all of them. Finally, you race against Razor. But during the race, your M3 car has a problem , the engine blows. You cannot finish the race and lose. You must give your car and money to Razor.

Things get worse when Sergeant Cross appears again and arrests you. Because your car is gone, they find no evidence and let you go a few days later.

Mia picks you up and tells you that your car was sabotaged. She encourages you to climb the Blacklist and defeat Razor.

With the money you have left, you buy a cheap car, improve it little by little, and win many races. After many victories, you beat Razor and win back your BMW M3.

After the final race, Mia tells you the truth. She is actually a police officer pretending to be a racer. She says she used you to catch all the Blacklist racers. But she also helps you escape.

She tells you to go to North Rosewood and find an unfinished bridge. You jump over it and escape from the police. After that, you and your BMW M3 GTR become the most wanted fugitives in Rockport City.

Gameplay

As explained earlier, NFS Most Wanted mixes two ideas from past games: open world exploration from NFS Underground 2 and police chases from NFS Hot Pursuit 2.

While driving around the city or going to a race, the police can suddenly appear and chase you. You can run away or crash into them to escape. You can also use buildings to stop police cars.

Police chases are important. The more trouble you cause, the more bounty you get. You need bounty points to challenge Blacklist racers. But with a high bounty, the police will chase you harder. You can hide in safe places until the police lose track of you.

Besides bounty points, you also need to win races. There are different types of races like Circuit, Sprint, Lap Knockout, Drag, Speedtrap, and Tollbooth. If your car is not good enough, you can go to a parts shop.

In the shop, you can improve your car’s speed, handling, and style. You can also change how your car looks. If you want a new car, you can buy one from the dealership. There are 32 cars to choose from, so pick one that fits your budget and racing style.

NFS Most Wanted Cheats for PC

Now let's talk about the cheat codes for NFS Most Wanted on PC.
These cheat codes must be entered on the first screen when the game opens. This is the screen where you see the NFS Most Wanted background and the message telling you to “click to continue.”

Before clicking anything, you need to type in the following cheat codes:

CodeFunction
iammostwantedUnlocks all cars
givemethegtoUnlocks the Pontiac GTO
burgerkingUnlocks the Burger King Challenge
castrolUnlocks the Castrol Ford GT

If you are playing the Black Edition, there are some extra cheat codes you can use.
The Black Edition and the Standard Edition of NFS Most Wanted are basically the same, but the Black Edition has some extra items like more cars and tracks.

The Black Edition was released to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Need for Speed series.
In addition to the cheat codes above, if you have installed the Black Edition, you can also use these cheat codes:

CodeFunction

Other Tips

Besides cheat codes, there are other ways to make it easier to win races in this game. Here, we will also share some extra tips to make the game even more exciting.

1. Get $10,000 for Free

You can get $10,000 if you have NFS Underground 2 installed on your computer.

2. Get More Money When Selling Cars

If you are bored and want to buy a new car but don't have enough cash, you can sell your old car. Before selling it, make sure to sell all the spare parts you have upgraded first.

After that, sell the car itself. This way, you can get more money, because the game gives the same selling price for a car whether it is modified or not.

3. Refill NO2 Faster

The NO2 speed boost runs out quickly and takes time to refill. To make it refill faster, drive your car on a straight road.

4. Repeat Item Randomization

After defeating a Blacklist member, you have a chance to win their car. However, you can only get it if you pick the right card during the item shuffle.

If you choose wrong, you might get something else instead. To avoid this, save the game before racing against a Blacklist member. If you don’t get the car after winning, reload your save and try again. You will still need a bit of luck.

5. Use Slow Motion to Avoid Police Traps

When you reach Blacklist number 9, your heat level must be at least level 4. At this level, it’s not just sedans chasing you. SUVs, roadblocks, helicopters, and spike strips will also appear.

If you hit a spike strip, your tyres will burst, and your car will slow down, making it easy for the police to catch you.
To avoid spike strips, you can use the slow motion mode.

Press the Speedbreaker button (usually on the right side of the control panel) when you see a spike strip, so you can quickly swerve and avoid it.

6. Challenge Other Racers

Besides racing on the set tracks, you can also challenge racers around the city. To do this, follow one of them closely and then challenge them to a duel.

If you manage to overtake them within a certain distance, you will win some money. You can also do this while running from the police.

Well, those are the cheat codes and quick tips for playing NFS Most Wanted. Considering the story and graphics, this game is still very fun to play today, especially if you want to fill your free time while working from home. It’s fair to say that EA has not been able to repeat the success of NFS Most Wanted.

Although EA released a reboot called NFS Most Wanted in 2012, the newer version did not surpass the sales of the original. Even though the reboot had better graphics and a more modern feel, it couldn’t match the popularity of the first game.
