5 Best Paraphrasing Apps for Android Phones

Written by Sera Serinda A

Besides translator apps, many writers also use paraphrasing apps. These apps help rewrite sentences so the result sounds more natural and fits the context better.

I often use paraphrasing apps to help me with schoolwork or writing tasks. Here are five of the best paraphrasing apps for Android that I recommend. Let’s take a look!

1. QuillBot

QuillBot is more than just a paraphrasing tool. It also includes a grammar checker, translation features, and even a tool to detect AI-generated content. This makes QuillBot a complete package for writing.

As a paraphraser, QuillBot gives you so many options. You can choose from different styles like academic, creative, formal, simple, standard, and fluent. It also has a mode to create longer sentences.

I suggest editing the results after using QuillBot. This way, your writing still feels personal and keeps your own style. You can do this directly in the app using the text editor, which shows changes and highlights between the original and paraphrased text.

However, the free version of QuillBot has limits. So, you can only rewrite a certain number of words and use a few modes. If you plan to use it often for work or study, it’s better to upgrade to the premium version for more access.

Things I like about QuillBot:

  • Many paraphrasing styles
  • Extra tools like translation, grammar check, and AI content detection
  • Built-in AI for smoother results
  • Highlights changes and lets you compare the original and new version
  • QuillBot Assistant can be used in other apps and as a keyboard
  • No ads

Things to note:

  • Free version has limited features
  • You can’t import or export text files directly

2. Tech Boeing Paraphrasing Tool

This app also uses AI to rewrite sentences. It provides tone options like formal, academic, creative, natural, and humanist.

The app has a simple design and includes a grammar checker. It also saves your past work automatically, which is helpful if you often work with the same content. You can go back and reuse your past texts without typing them again.

But the app has some downsides. The free version has usage limits, and there are a lot of ads. These ads often appear as banners and can make the screen look messy.

Things I like about Tech Boeing Paraphrasing Tool:

  • Simple and easy to use
  • Has a grammar checker
  • Clean interface
  • Keeps a history of your paraphrased texts
  • Supports different languages
  • Uses AI for better rewriting

Things to note:

  • Free version still has limits
  • Too many ads in the free version
  • No built-in translation feature, so it’s less practical for writing in different languages
  • Has AI but no tool to detect AI-generated content

3. Prepostseo Article Rewriter and Spinner

The team behind Prepostseo has created several tools to help with writing, including a paraphrasing app. This app makes it easy to rewrite any text or article. You can even paraphrase content directly from PDF, DOC, and TXT files.

The app offers two free paraphrasing modes, Fluency and Creative. You don’t need to upgrade to a premium version to use them, and there are no limits on how much text you can paraphrase.

The app also suggests synonyms for some of the words in your paraphrased text. You can change these based on your personal writing style. However, the editing process can feel a bit difficult because there’s no side-by-side view to compare the original text with the new one.

What I like about Prepostseo Article Rewriter and Spinner:

  • Can import files like PDF, DOC, and TXT
  • Paraphrasing is fast, even in the free version
  • Suggests synonyms you can edit further
  • Free to use
  • Only a few ads appear in the app

Things to note:

  • You can’t see the original and paraphrased text together
  • Only two paraphrasing modes are available: Fluency and Creative

4. Allmath Paraphrase Tool

The Allmath Paraphrase Tool has a unique concept. You can choose to paraphrase only a few words, a single sentence, or the whole text. The app can also help improve your grammar so your writing sounds more natural.

You can copy and paste your text into the app, or import text-based files directly. This saves time because you don’t need to switch between different apps.

The app is free to use and has no ads. But keep in mind that you must be connected to the internet to use it. The app won’t work offline. Also, compared to other apps, the paraphrasing speed is slower. The more text you enter, the longer it takes.

Things I like about Allmath Paraphrase Tool:

  • Unique concept for word, sentence, or full-text paraphrasing
  • Can improve grammar
  • Simple design with no extra tools
  • Lets users change the app theme
  • Free to use with no ads
  • Can import text-based files directly

Things to note:

  • No different paraphrasing modes
  • Slower than other apps, especially with longer texts
  • Needs an internet connection to work

5. Retext

I'm not a big fan of Retext’s user interface. It looks simple but also a bit unprofessional in some parts. Even so, the app still works well.

Retext did a good job paraphrasing the text I entered. It also supports many languages. You can copy the result or share it directly to other platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Pinterest, email, and more.

One great feature is the ability to export your paraphrased text as a PDF. However, you can’t import files into the app yet. Still, you can paraphrase as much as you want for free, and there are no ads.

Things I like about Retext:

  • Fast paraphrasing
  • Supports many languages
  • Easy to share text to different platforms
  • Can export results as PDF
  • Can generate QR codes from paraphrased text
  • Free to use with no ads

Things to note:

  • The interface looks unprofessional
  • You can’t import text files
  • No option to change writing tone or style

There are actually many paraphrasing apps available for Android. But among all the options, I only had the chance to try five of them. I think these five are good enough to support different writing tasks.

Some apps even come with advanced features like plagiarism checking, the ability to shorten or expand your text, and several writing styles. You can choose the one that matches your needs and preferences.
