7 Pros and Cons of Infinix Smart 10

The Infinix Smart Series is known as one of the most affordable and appealing lines from Transsion Holdings. The Infinix Smart 10, set to launch in mid-2025, is the successor to the Infinix Smart 9, which came out in October 2024.

As the next generation, the Smart 10 still aims at the same market. While it brings some improvements, certain features stay the same. Want to know more? Here are some of its pros and cons you might consider:

Pros of the Infinix Smart 10

Considering the price of its predecessor, the Smart 10 is expected to cost around Rp1 million. This price point is quite attractive, especially for the features it offers. Below are some of the highlights.

1. Minimalist Design with Good Durability and IP64 Certification

Infinix Smart 10

The Smart 10 has a simple yet elegant look. The camera module is small, unlike many phones in this range that have large, bulky cameras, often called ‘boba’ style. If you look closely, the two cameras inside the small module resemble the iPhone 16!

The back panel also stands out. It has a smooth, soft matte finish that doesn’t look cheap. Paired with a shiny, aluminium-style frame and a flat design, the phone feels more upscale.

You can choose from four colors: Titanium Silver, Iris Blue, Twilight Gold, and Sleek Black. The body remains fairly slim at 8.25 mm thick and weighs 187 grams.

When it comes to durability, the Smart 10 is said to resist impact and drops well. This is based on tests where the phone was dropped 25,000 times from 1.5 meters high. It also carries an IP64 rating, meaning it can resist dust and splashes.

2. Bright and Smooth Screen with 120 Hz Refresh Rate and Dynamic Bar

Infinix Smart 10

The display quality of the Smart 10 remains similar to the previous model. It features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution (720 x 1600 pixels). Although the resolution is modest, the screen still looks good with a 72% NTSC color gamut.

The display brightness reaches 560 nits typically and can peak at 700 nits. This ensures the screen is still easy to see outdoors, as long as it’s not in direct sunlight.

What stands out most is the 120 Hz refresh rate support, which is still uncommon at this price level. You can switch it to 60 Hz or 90 Hz if you want to save battery. Higher refresh rates make scrolling and animations look smoother.

The screen also includes a Dynamic Bar feature. This makes the punch-hole camera area more interesting by changing its size , it can stretch, widen, or grow when you get a notification.

This idea started with Apple’s Dynamic Island on the iPhone. Other Android phones have similar features under different names, but seeing it in a budget phone is definitely noteworthy.

3. Loud DTS-Based Stereo Speakers with Up to 300% Volume Boost

Infinix Smart 10

To improve the user experience, the Infinix Smart 10 comes with stereo speakers that produce clear and pleasant sound. Having stereo speakers in a phone at this price is still quite rare, which adds to its value. The speakers are placed at the bottom and top of the phone to provide balanced audio.

Infinix also adds a feature called Ultra Volume. This boosts the sound volume by more than 100%, reaching up to 300%. It’s especially useful when making calls in noisy places like train stations, markets, or concerts.

However, this volume boost isn’t ideal for music, videos, or gaming. When the volume is pushed too high, the sound loses some clarity and detail.

4. Powered by the UNISOC T7250 for Everyday Tasks

Infinix Smart 10

Regarding performance, the Infinix Smart 10 delivers solid results for its class. It handles daily tasks well and can even run games smoothly. The phone uses the UNISOC T7250 chipset, which is similar in power to the UNISOC T615.

This chipset is built with a 12 nm process and has eight CPU cores. Two of these cores are ARM Cortex-A75 running at 1.8 GHz for heavier tasks, while the other six are ARM Cortex-A55 at 1.6 GHz, designed for energy efficiency. For graphics, the chipset uses the Mali G57 MC2 GPU.

The UNISOC T7250 is known to handle everyday activities without draining the battery quickly. Although there might be other chipsets with more competitive specs, this one still runs several games comfortably.

For memory, the chipset supports LPDDR4x RAM and either eMMC 5.1 or UFS 2.2 storage. The Smart 10 comes with 4 GB of RAM and offers internal storage options of 64 GB or 128 GB. If that’s not enough, you can expand storage using a microSD card up to 2 TB.

On the AnTuTu v10 benchmark, the UNISOC T7250 scores around 300,000 points. This performance allows smooth gameplay for titles like Mobile Legends and PUBG Mobile.

One downside is the gyro sensor, which is only software-based. This makes its response slower and less accurate compared to hardware sensors. For fast reflex games, this could be a disadvantage. Still, Mobile Legends runs smoothly because it does not require very high specifications.

5. Long-lasting 5000 mAh Battery for Daily Use

Infinix Smart 10

The Infinix Smart 10 comes with a 5000 mAh battery, which is enough to last through a typical day. Many testers said they were satisfied with its battery life.

Infinix claims that this battery is very reliable. They say the phone can last up to 28 days on standby. For actual use, it can handle up to 40 hours of calls and about 100 hours of music playback.

The downside is the charging speed. The phone only supports 15W charging, which is relatively slow.

6. Advanced AI Features at an Affordable Price

Infinix Smart 10

If you want to try AI features but have a limited budget, the Infinix Smart 10 has you covered. Even as an entry-level phone, it offers some interesting AI tools. Infinix calls this “Infinix AI” with the slogan ‘Leap Into AI.’ It includes functions like Summarise, Query, Write, and Optimisation.

Using it is simple. Just select the text you want, then tap ‘AskAI.’ You can pick commands like Text Generator, Text Optimizer, or Grammar Checker. The phone also has Folax, an AI assistant similar to Apple’s Siri. Folax can help with playing music, making calls, or planning trips.

7. Decent Camera Capabilities, Records up to 2K (1440p)

Infinix Smart 10

The Infinix Smart 10 has two cameras on the back, but only one is used often , the main 8 MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus. The front camera is also 8 MP with an f/2.0 aperture, but it only has fixed focus, so it can’t automatically adjust focus like the main camera.

For its price, the camera quality is quite good. Both front and rear cameras can record video up to 2K (1440p) at 30 frames per second. This makes it suitable for creating social media content.

Cons of the Infinix Smart 10

Since this is a budget phone, it has some drawbacks to keep in mind before buying.

1. Only 4 GB RAM , Not Ideal for Heavy Games or Multitasking

RAM 4 GB Infinix Smart 10

The Smart 10 is a basic phone meant for light use. It can run simple games but isn’t designed for heavy gaming or running many apps at once. With just 4 GB of RAM, don’t expect very fast performance.

2. No Ultrawide Camera, Only a Main Camera

Infinix Smart 10

Though it has two rear cameras, only the main one is really useful. The second camera is just a depth sensor, not an ultrawide lens.

An ultrawide camera would be a nice addition, but it’s understandable that Infinix left it out to keep the price low. For a phone around Rp1 million, this is not a big issue.

3. Charging Is Slow

Infinix Smart 10

Another downside is the slow charging speed. Even though the phone uses USB Type-C, it only supports 15W charging, which takes a long time.

This is disappointing, especially since faster charging is common in this price range now. If Infinix upgraded to at least 18W, charging times would be shorter, making it more convenient.

Conclusion

If you want an affordable phone that works well for daily tasks, the Infinix Smart 10 is a solid choice. Its minimalist design fits all ages, and the standout feature is its 120 Hz screen, which makes the display feel smooth for this class.

The stereo speakers also impress, offering better sound than most phones in this price range. Performance-wise, it handles everyday needs well, and the long-lasting battery helps you stay connected longer.

Other features like the camera, sensors, connectivity, and AI tools add extra value. While the camera setup and slow charging are drawbacks, if you can accept those, the Infinix Smart 10 offers great value for money.
